Bathroom odor cure method

Some people's bathrooms, even if they are very clean, can still smell a smell. This smell will not only ruin the mood of the home, but also make the owner unable to lift their head when there is a guest. In addition to the mold and smell caused by the lack of cleaning, there are three main sources of odor in the bathroom, namely floor drain, toilet and pipeline. Today, I will follow the small series to see how to prescribe the right medicine and eradicate the smell of the bathroom.

Part1: One by one, the bathroom floor draining solution

The bathroom is heavily watered, and the daily displacement is large, so one or several drainage floor drains are often installed. The floor drain is connected to the indoor and sewer pipes. If the floor drain and deodorization effect is poor, the odor in the sewer pipe can easily escape into the room. Let's take a look at the causes of the odor at the floor drain and the corresponding solutions.

First, install a floor drain with poor deodorization effect

Causes of odor: Although the floor drain is small, it has a significant effect. A good floor drain needs to have various functions such as anti-backwater, insect proof, anti-clogging, and deodorization. The deodorant function should be the most critical function. When installing a floor drain, if you choose a floor drain with a weak deodorizing function, it is not surprising that there is an odor in the bathroom.

Solution: If it is because the floor drain is not deodorant, and the bathroom smell is caused, the solution is to replace the floor drain with good deodorant function. So how do you choose a floor drain with good deodorant effect? Or let's first understand the principle of deodorization of floor drain.

1. The principle of deodorization of floor drain

Deodorant floor drain can be divided into two categories: water seal and odor-resistant floor drain and self-sealing and odor-resistant floor drain. The principle of water seal and odor-resistant floor drain is to use the water in the trap to achieve the sealing effect; while the self-sealing and odor-resistant floor drain is generally sealed by the mechanical device such as spring, magnet, bearing or soft material to leak the odor of the ground. As long as there is water in the water seal floor drain, the deodorant effect can be ensured; the self-sealed floor drain can avoid the situation where the water seal leaks the water and is not deodorized, but due to the mechanical device, the deodorant function fails.

2. the bathroom should choose deep water seal deodorant floor drain

Water seals, floor drains and deodorization are relatively safe, and self-sealed drains and drains are relatively smooth. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. In order to avoid weaknesses, it is recommended to use different floor drains in different spaces. Because the bathroom often needs drainage, it is recommended to choose deep water seal floor drain, the deodorant effect is more insurance, and it is not easy to malfunction.

Second, the floor drain installation is not in place

Odor causes: Although the optional floor drain and deodorization function is very good, after installation, the odor is infiltrated into the room from the floor drain. The reason is generally that when the floor drain is installed, the gap between the surrounding area and the pipe is not sealed.

Solution: If it is because of the gap, you can use glass glue or other adhesive to seal the gap around the floor drain to ensure that the odor of the sewer can not be emitted through the gap.

Third, the floor drain and deodorization function is malfunctioning

Odor causes: After the floor drain is installed, it may cause the floor drain and deodorization function to fail due to lack of good maintenance. For example, the water seal floor drain has not been used for a long time, and the water is dry; the floor drain is not cleaned up in time, and it is blocked by dirt such as hair.

Solution 1: If it is a water seal floor drain, in use, care should be taken to prevent the water seal from drying out and water should be injected regularly. If the home does not live for a long time, it is best to seal the floor drain with a lid to reduce the evaporation of water and also play a role in sealing.

Solution 2: If it is a self-sealing floor drain, it must be known that the self-sealing leakage of the seal is often achieved by mechanical means such as springs and magnets. However, as the spring grows with the use time, the elasticity is weakened; the magnet is weakened by the adsorption of iron in the water. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly check whether the performance of the self-sealing floor drain is good, and if there is a problem, it needs to be replaced in time.

Part2: Focus on the object of the toilet odor solution

When looking for the source of odor in the bathroom, if the floor drain is excluded, then the main object of doubt is the toilet. There are many reasons for the smell of the toilet. Let's look at it one by one.

First, the toilet displacement is too slow

Odor causes: Many families changed the installation position of the toilet for reasons of layout, size, etc., resulting in the toilet not directly facing the drain, the water is too slow, easy to accumulate debris, it is easy to appear Anti-taste phenomenon.

Solution: The most fundamental solution is to move the toilet position back to the original drain, but this is generally a large amount of work. The more convenient way is to replace the toilet with better deodorant effect.

Second, the connection of the lower water pipe is not tightly sealed

Odor: When the toilet is installed, if the flange of the toilet is not tightly sealed with the pipe, a part of the odor is emitted from the gap, which is also the cause of the odor of the bathroom.

Solution: When installing the toilet, the gap between the pipe and the pipe must be glued with glass glue. Glass glue can usually be used for 2-3 years. For the sake of caution, the original glass glue can be scraped off with a knife every year and then re-coated.

Third, the toilet water seal is not up to standard

Odor causes: The so-called water seal refers to the water stored in the toilet. The water storage can prevent the odor from returning. The height of the water storage determines the ability of the toilet to block the odor. The national regulations stipulate that the height of the water seal of the toilet should not be less than 50mm. If the height of the toilet water seal does not meet this standard, the returning smell may occur.

Solution: When purchasing a toilet, be sure to pay attention to the height of the water seal. The height of the purchased toilet water seal must meet the national standards. However, the higher the water seal height, the better the deodorization effect. However, as the water level rises, the water splash problem is more likely to occur. Therefore, to buy a toilet, it is best to choose a product with a water seal height of 55-60mm.

Fourth, the toilet glaze quality is poor

Odor causes: If the glazed surface of the toilet itself is not well sealed, it is very easy to hide dirt, hang dirty, and it is not easy to clean. After a long time, the toilet itself will produce a lot of odor.

Solution: The cure method is to change the toilet with better quality. If it can't be replaced temporarily, then it is necessary to pay attention to cleaning. The daily cleaning frequency needs to be increased to ensure that the stains are discharged in time and no odor is generated.

Part3: Other sources of odors

Floor drains and toilets are the two main sources of odor in the bathroom. In addition, there are some sources that can cause odors in the bathroom. Let's take a look at the following one.

1. The connection between the down pipe and the sewer is not tightly sealed.

Source of odor: Many people in the bathroom basin under the water pipe and sewer when connecting, often do not take some sealing anti-back odor measures, which can easily lead to odor in the bathroom.

Solution: You can use a glass glue or other adhesive to seal the gap at the interface so that the gas cannot be emitted. Or use a water pipe with a trap to bring a deodorant effect.

Second, the exhaust odor is reversed

Source of odor: If you have not found any source of odor in other places in the bathroom, but the bathroom still has odor, then the odor is likely to come in from the outside.

Solution: You can find someone to overhaul the exhaust pipe, and you can replace the ventilation fan with a check valve to prevent odor reflow.

Third, the pipeline is blocked to cause odor

Source of odor: If you do not pay attention to the cleaning of the drains of sinks, wash basins, bathroom cabinets, bathtubs and floor drains, so that the dirt will adhere to the drains for a long time, causing pollution and blockage of the drains and even the pipes, it will also cause the bathroom to emit odor. .

Solution: It is easier to remove the dirt from the drain, but it is not so easy to remove the dirt attached to the pipe wall. Now the pipeline cleaners sold by major building materials supermarkets have a certain dissolution and corrosion effect on the dirt, which can play a very good cleaning effect.

Fourth, other ways to prevent odors in the bathroom

Excluding the sources listed above that may cause the smell of bathroom, if there is odor in the bathroom, it is likely that the odor of the bathroom cannot be discharged in time due to the lack of cleaning and ventilation. Let's take a look at other ways to prevent odors in the bathroom.

1. often ventilation

Many people often use air fresheners or other more intense tastes to cover up the odor when they encounter the problem of bathroom odor, instead of eradicating odor. To solve the odor of the bathroom, the most effective way is to ventilate. If the bathroom has windows, you can open the window and ventilate every day. If the bathroom is small and there is no window, you need to use the exhaust fan.

2. placing a specific green plant

If the bathroom area is large, some green plants can be placed to remove the smell of the bathroom. However, it should be noted that the green plants placed in the bathroom are also very particular, and it is best to have broad-leaved leafy plants such as green radish and tyrannosaurids, which can grow well in the humid environment without sunlight. They can absorb dirt, moisture, and regulate the air, which can greatly help the bathroom to eliminate odor.
