India's Sanitary Ware Market May Be Exploding

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swach Bharat project has brought huge business opportunities to sanitary ware and tile manufacturers. Narendra’s project is to build toilets across the country and to increase the use of toilets to improve the open air toilet environment in India.

In India, only 40% of people have toilets, and the Prime Minister plans to build toilets for every Indian. That is to say, 60% of people in India have not used the toilet. The total population of India is now more than 1.3 billion. In the next few years, if the toilet is to be spread to the remaining 780 million people, India will need a large amount of Sanitary ware and tiles. As a result, major sanitary ware companies and ceramic tile companies in India are implementing capacity expansion plans, which manufacturers hope will increase the economic growth rate to 15%.

Sanitware manufacturer Hindware has set a new factory in Gujarat for about 1.5 billion rupees in order to meet the growing demand for bathroom accessories, while another famous Indian tile and bathroom manufacturer Somany Ceramics has invested about Rs 1 billion in Gujarat. He has three factories.

Similarly, Roca Parryware, a joint venture between Murugappa Group and Roca, Spain, will also introduce a new low-cost Indian-style potty to meet the needs of the project. In India, most of the initial demand for sanitary ware will come from low-cost products, which may not be needed in the next few years.

India's ceramic tile market is worth Rs 20 crore, but the market value of sanitary ware is only Rs 3 billion – both are now growing at a rate of 12% per year. The Indian ceramic sanitary ware market has grown steadily in recent years. According to the product type, the Indian ceramic sanitary ware market is subdivided into washbasins, water tanks, water tanks, dressing tables and accessories. The Indian water tank section is divided into one section, two sections, a wall section and an EWC section. The washbasin segment is further subdivided into wall hangings, half countertops, countertops and inset basins.
